The 11th Commandment

SMWD cagers dominated the court for all but the last 3 minutes of the game. Big men Jimmy Jensen ‘Kano’ and Jerry leong crushed the boards, while sharpshooting sumayang and botchok denied the defense put up by SEC Mentors thru their long range shooting. And if those offensive threats are not enough, SMWD flash players easily sliced thru whatever perimeter resistance that are uselessly created by the other team.

The game was almost unfair to watch. SMWD boys dominated the mentors. We literally humiliated them in front of their students… until I decided to let in the game what we call the “patisoy Boys’. Afterall, its only a ‘friendhip game’… why not give the adversary a ray of hope.

Little by little, like a constant drop of water that ultimately carved the rock, our 25 point lead dwindled to just 8 points. I immediately called a time out and send back to court my ‘power team’. But its too late. The hope that I gave the Mentors turned into a confidence that whatever I do to break their momentum, all efforts are futile. They knew that the game is theirs and ours to lose.

When the final horn sounded, the score was 97-95. In favor of SEC Mentors.

Another lesson learned personally delivered by SEC mentors.
