I am nervous at this very moment. I don't know what to do. Policemen, together with some SMWD men conducted raid to illegal miners and loggers at Parang-parang water shed. Gun fires were aimed to them and they called our office to ask authorities for reenforcement and rescue. We call the local military and they asked for dam truck to go up there to rescue our men. But the driver don't know the place, so someone should accompany the driver to the place. Papa voluntered....

God, please cover my husband and all other people there. Let them come home safe.. LORD please....

Those of you who can read this blog, please I asked for your prayers for my husbands safety and all other people out there............

Kodus to mama for winning their Quiz Bowl contest yesterday!

The purifiers did it again, winning the quiz bowl category for the second time. (Quiz bowl is included in SMWD games only twice since 2000). Mama was a crucial member of the team since she was the one who was able to answer questions regarding the ff: Pope as the only person who can travel without the need of a visa, Bagumabayan as the Old name of Luneta Park, Guimaras as the province known for its sweet mangoes, Mohammed as the most common first name in the world, and etc.... etc...

..........

Gan2x was brought to the office yesterday afternoon so that he can play with other kids who were also brought by our co-employees. We had a movie showing in the roof deck of our office, we watched "Chariots of Fire" to inspire our athletes. ehem...
..........

Today, I applied for a job abroad thru e-mail... I hope I will receive a positive response. I really believe the need to work abroad will help my family's financial difficulties... opportunities to live a convenient life here in the Philippines is nil even if me and my wife are both working in the govt.. It's sad, but it's true.

SMWD sportsfest, is an annual event held in celebration of the anniversary of our workplace. Employees are grouped into two teams: Hydrolickers and Purifiers... luckily, me and tetel both belong to Purifiers, of which I consider as the Griffyndors, the house team of Harry Potter in Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. maybe the Hydrolickers are the Ravenclaws? or Hufflepuff? or maybe the Slytherins???

We won the basketball tournament yesterday against team hydrolickers 3 games to 1 in a best of five series.

Today, I lost my first round match of Billiards to my fellow Purifier Warak Dumadag... I'll be playing my next game against Rolen in the losers bracket. I hope to regain my composure to keep my hopes alive in winning the p1000 prize! hehehe

Go Purifiers go!

Gan2x was already asleep when we went home lastnight... his yaya told me that Gan was murmuring "Papa bad, dugay uli papa..." and "haman Papa? haman Mama?"

Im so sorry anak... dont worry, i promise to go home early na next time so we can still play before you go to sleep. I love you anak!

Papa

Congratulations for winning the basketball today!!!! I got sorethroat shouting and cheering in your game. I was nervous when the score was so tight.... thanks God you made the winning shots!

I'll give you a nice massge when we get home... promise....

Mama and the kids are very proud of you! We love you papa!

hi pa. thank you for making this blog. at least we can have a venue to log our very simple lives.... oj

mama

We live a simple life; we live in a place away from the hustles of city life (8 kms. away form city proper). In fact, we live in a small Nipa Hut, sorrounded by fruit trees. At the back our our house is a small pond, were Tilapia, Bangus and other native fish & ducks freely swim. Iguanas are frequent visitors to the pond.

We asked God to give us kids, instead he gave us angels: Rafael Regan (Gan2x) and Francine Mikaela (Ella). Rafael was born Sept. 8, 2003. Ella will celebrate her first birthday on November 3,2005.

Typical of a Filipino close family ties characteristic... our in-laws live just 30 meters away from us. Tatay and Nanay are the core of our moral values. Their influence on our prayer life is contagious... Everyday, Nanay goes to the chapel to pray the rosary with her sisters; every Sunday, Tatay will lead the community in celebrating the Holy Mass.

We've had our share of life's joys and pains, the Yin Yang of life. Every day is a struggle for us, eventhough we (Mama & Papa) are both working in a local water district. It seems that our expenses are far greater than the sum of our earnings. Honestly, we tried to minimize our expenses... but our daily needs just cant be denied. Gan2x and Ella's milk alone are very expensive... We have to pay our water and electric bills... We have to hire yaya's for our kids since we are both working... Of course we need to set aside a few pesos for our daily meals... and that does not include our transportation expenses. Yet we were able to end each day with a smile, a hug to our kids everytime we go home seems to evaporate all the days tensions.

To see our children healthy everyday is enough for us... as long they are free from any sickness, we can survive.
